It provides a comprehensive, computer-based, patient-assessment protocol and a simple interface for uploading images captured with a retinal camera into an electronic consultation request. The consultation is then sent via a secure Internet connection to a consulting ophthalmologist who can provide a diagnosis online, in many cases eliminating the need for a face-to-face appointment.
